Aug 17, Colombo: FACETS Sri Lanka 2013, the 23rd International Gem & Jewellery Show will be held from 29th August -1st September at the he BMICH Exhibition and Convention Centre in Colombo.

FACETS Sri Lanka, held since 1991, will showcase a wide variety of sapphires and gemstones from producers and wholesalers from all the main producing areas of Sri Lanka.

Organized by the Sri Lanka Gem & Jewellery Association FACETS 2013 also provides ample opportunity for local businesses to showcase their capabilities, to participating delegations from around the world.

The exhibition will have hundreds of local and foreign exhibitors showcasing their gem and jewellery products. Over 50 small and medium enterprises will take part in FACETS Sri Lanka 2013 according to the organizing committee.

A large number of influential trade visitors from around the world are expected to visit the FACETS exhibition which is promised to be "Bigger & Better" than ever before.

The organizers have planned to display precious and semiprecious gems as well as an exclusive hall dedicated to jewellery, lapidary and machinery items.

It will also create strong networking, knowledge sharing and skill enhancing opportunities for the SME sector enterprises, the organizers say.

Local manufacturers will be able to acquire knowledge on technology, process, best practices and the importance of maintaining industry quality standards right throughout the event.

Knowledge sharing sessions include a series of seminars conducted by international and local panelists this year.

FACETS 2013 Chairman, Juzar Adamaly says the SME sector plays a vital role within the entire gem and jewellery industry and it is a major component to the entire industry with targets to achieve US$ 1 billion export revenue by 2016. —
